Foylehov Charity Fun Day - Interview with Jeannie Mark

FAC: Hi Jeannie, we were hoping you could give us some info on the Charity Fun Day here at Foylehov Activity Centre on Sunday 14th April.

First of all, could you introduce yourself and let everyone know what you are doing?

JM: I am Jeannie Mark and I am part of a team of students and teachers from Limavady Grammar School who are heading out to Kajiado in Kenya to continue their 16 year partnership with the Oloosuyian Girls School with building, maintenance work and teaching.

FAC: It sounds like a great cause to be a part of, can you tell us why you have chosen to raise funds for this particular cause?

JM: Over the last 16 years, our school has already helped to build a better lifestyle for these girls and this year, we hope to improve this even further, by adding in a new plumbing system and finally giving these girls a chance at a well-educated future.

FH: Finally, how will the funds you hopefully raise from the event aid in your efforts to assist the girls in Kajiado?

All the members of the team going on the trip have to pay out of their own pockets to fund this trip. This then allows every penny raised to go directly to where it is needed in Kajiado. This is a fantastic cause!

FH: Jeannie, thank you for taking the time to speak with us, we wish you the best of luck for your Charity Fun Day and for your fantastic cause in Kenya.

Jeanne Mark of Limavady Grammar School. Jeannie heads for Kajiado, Kenya later this year with Staff and Students from the school to assist with building work at Oloosuyian Girls School.
