Marketing Manager

Job brief

We're looking for a pro-active, passionate Marketing Manager to join the team here at Foylehov Activity Centre for the upcoming season.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of a marketing strategy,  tracking and analysing the performance of advertising campaigns, managing the marketing budget and ensuring that all marketing material is in line with our brand identity. A major part of the role will be to ensure that Foylehov Activity Centre's upcoming expansion, which will include new facilities and activities, is promoted successfully throughout the process to generate awareness and interest. You will be expected to have knowledge of digital marketing tools, including web analytical platforms, social media channels and marketing automation tools as the role will involve working alongside our digital marketing officer.

You will be tasked with building and maintaining a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of online and offline marketing channels.



  • Develop a successful marketing strategy with the aim of increasing brand awareness and visitor numbers.

  • Guide the marketing team in creating marketing campaigns which generate excitement within the target audience.

  • Implement a plan which will increase the likelihood of returning customers i.e. membership, discounts etc.

  • Liaise with and build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, influencers, local businesses and vendors.

  • Prepare and monitor the marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis and allocate funds wisely

  • Oversee and approve marketing material, from website banners to hard copy brochures and case studies

  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals

  • Analyze consumer behaviour and plan future campaigns according to results.


Essential Requirements

  • BSc/MSc degree in Marketing or related field

  • 3+ years in Marketing, PR or Communications based role.

  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate

  • Excellent IT skills with regards to Microsoft Office Packages and Adobe Software.

  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)

  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns

  • Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets

  • A sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and witty communication

  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement.

  • Ability to work well and prioritise and delegate tasks in order to meet deadlines.

  • Create and deliver marketing pitches to potential clients.

  • Represent Foylehov Activity Centre at corporate events and in local media pieces.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car.


Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge of activities offered by Foylehov Activity Centre.

  • Experience and understanding of travel & tourism/hospitality industry.

  • Flexibility to work some evenings/weekends when required.

  • Previous experience in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record of working with corporate clients and establishing  a clientele base.
